CPSC Approves New Flammability Standard for
Mattresses

Maytag Corp. announced
voluntary recalls of 1,170 built-in Jenn-Air model JGD8348CDP
downdraft gas cooktops. The recalled cooktops have switches located too close to
the gas tubing leading to the grill burner. Electrical arcing can cause the
tubing to leak gas and ignite, resulting in a fire hazard to consumers. Maytag
has received four reports of cooktops catching fire during use as a result of a
gas leak. There have been no reports of injuries.The Jenn-Air model JGD8348CDP
downdraft gas cooktops have serial numbers xxxxxxxEA through xxxxxxxER. . The
model name and serial number are printed on a label on the vent fan housing,
which is visible in the cabinet under the cooktop. Consumers should immediately
stop using the grill or burners activated by the two left hand controls until
the repair is completed. The center and right hand burners can be used.
Customers who have purchased one of these recalled cooktops should contact

Oil-Filled Radiator Heater; Welds in the heating fins can break, allowing oil to
leak. This poses a burn and fall hazard to consumers. The portable electric
radiator-style heaters have seven fins, one of which has the control panel
attached to it. The units are gray with a black control panel. “Maxi-Heat™” is
printed below the handle indentation on the control panel. The model number
70030 and date codes 0705 and 0805 are printed on the UL label on the lower
right side of the control panel. Consumers should immediately stop using these
heaters and unplug them. Return the recalled heaters to a Home Depot store for a

“Homelite” is printed on the top of the blower. The blower is red with a black

Cordless Electric Lawnmowers; When the handlebar is released on the recalled
lawnmowers, the motor could continue to run, which causes the blade to continue
to spin. In addition, there is excessive heat build up in the wire coil inside
the housing and also in the safety key. The recalled lawnmowers were sold under
the NEUTON® name and carry model number EM 4 1 NEUTON® printed on the front
portion of the lawnmower. The lawnmowers are two shades of green and have a
14-inch cutting width with rear bagging capability. The serial number ranges of
the recalled mowers are CE4049212 through CE4054902 and CE4061492 through

Details: This is information on the official
Court website for the Grays Harbor Adventist Christian School v. Carrier
Corporation class action settlement. The Court will hold a hearing on April 22,
2008 to decide whether to approve the settlement. Those included in the class
action, together called a "Class," have legal rights and options, such as
submitting a claim form to ask for a payment, excluding themselves from the
settlement, objecting to it, or asking to speak at the hearing. The deadline for
exclusions and objections is March 21, 2008. You may fill out and submit a Claim
